Whisper's Estate

Whisper's Estate

In July of 2010, I was able to spend a weekend at this semi-famous haunted house. Prior to my visit, the location had been known for a ghostly girl, Rachael, singing "Ring around the Rosie" in the front parlor. Rachael had died of injuries in the house from a fire she accidently started in the front parlor sometime in the early 1900s. Not long before my visit, a new owner had purchased the house, and reported that the singing had ceased since he had taken over. Despite this, our group still hoped to hear the phantom singing. As we investigated, Kenny noticed a difference in the paneling under the main stairs. One of the ghost hunters got up early and removed the panel, only to discover a chute to the basement crawlspace. Kenny volunteered to climb around the crawlspace to see if there were any artifacts. What he did find were speakers strategically placed near the chute and an open vent, which was under the front parlor. Other stereo equipment was discovered in the basement, leading to the possibility the "ghostly singing" was likely a hoax.

The house has changed owners since my visit, and I was recently contacted by a friend of the new owner - who invited me out to come out again and experience all the alleged new activity going on. I hope to be able to revisit the house in the future (after the COVID Crap) and update this story.
